Cold Iron Studios has given upcoming co-op shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite a release date, with the bug hunt commencing this August.

In addition to adding the extra word in its title, the studio has also opened pre-orders for the game. Doing so nets you the Hardened Marine Pack including a Bandana Head Accessory, Digital Red Weapon Camo, three Weapon Decals and a Chestburster emote.

Set 23 years after the Alien movie trilogy, the game pits you as a Colonial Marine stationed aboard the UAS Endeavor. You’ll fight the xenomorph threat across four replayable campaigns with powerful weapons and futuristic equipment at your disposal.

There’ll be twenty different enemy types to face, with eleven of those the series’ infamous Xenomorphs. You’ll have to use cover and master team strategy to survive, along with 30+ weapons and over 70 different mods and attachments. There’s also five customisable classes to pick from, including Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc and Recon.

The game was first formerly announced back in March, though it’s been known Cold Iron Studios has been working on an Aliens game since as far back as 2019.

Check out the trailer for yourself below. Aliens: Fireteam Elite launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on August 24.
