The Xbox One version of first-person space game Adrift has been cancelled, developer Adam Orth has revealed.

Speaking on Twitter, Orth told one fan that they should “get a refund immediately” after pre-ordering the game on Xbox One, confirming that it is “not releasing on Xbox One”.

He later told New Game Network that he hopes fans “are able to find some way to experience and enjoy it on our other platforms.”

A reason for its cancellation has not been provided. VideoGamer has followed up with publisher 505 Games for comment.

Back in July, a 505 spokesperson told VideoGamer that the publisher was “still working on additional SKUs” for Adrift, and that it would have news on release dates soon. Nothing has been said since.

Adrift was first announced at the 2014 Game Awards, with a release initially scheduled for summer 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and Steam. It eventually arrived on Oculus Rift and Steam in March 2016 before heading to PS4 in July.
