The next entry to the Assassin’s Creed series is set to be shown off soon (via Game Fragger).

In 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey took us for a stroll around Ancient Greece while the Peloponnesian War was waged. It’s the latest entry with the oldest setting, and rumours abound that the next stabby and shadowy story will feature European countries invaded by the Vikings. Ubisoft has kept mum, even though there’s an interesting easter egg in Rainbow Six Siege, and that it’s been more than a year and a half since a new Assassin’s Creed game.
Assassin’s Creed does very well for the company, so, it’s strange that there still isn’t even a morsel of official info out there. An antsy fan asked notable industry insider Shinobi602 whether he knew anything about an upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, and he responded positively.

He apparently knows when the game will be revealed, and that it is soon. Of course, E3 2020 is no longer happening, but this offers developers and publishers the freedom to strut their stuff. Ubisoft is one of the companies that assured it would be producing a digital showcase of its planned E3 announcements, but we don’t know when that will be. Moreover, Xbox boss Phil Spencer stated that there is “not too much of a wait” for Xbox Series X game reveals. Is it possible that the next Assassin’s Creed game is a next-generation title and it will be featured in Microsoft’s own presentation?
It’s possible. This is all rumoured, and once again, Ubisoft has not thrown its hat into the ring to confirm or deny these statements. As such, we should take Shinobi602’s words with a pinch of salt. We’ll let you know if we hear anything official about the next Assassin’s Creed game.
