Atlus West has dropped a new Mysteries trailer for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim ahead of next month’s Nintendo Switch launch.

The publisher declared that the sci-fi mystery adventure would head Nintendo-wards back in November. You’ll be deciding the fates of thirteen high-school students who suddenly find their city invaded by mechs from the future. They soon find themselves upended from 1980s Japan into a futuristic time-hopping war between men, machines and aliens.

With thirteen separate characters over the course of the story, there’s a lot of them to meet. They include Renya Gouto, who’s described as a “cold, brilliant young man who will use any means necessary to find the truth”. Then there’s El Sekigahara, who starts off waking up next to a dead body and no memory of his past.

While this trailer mainly focuses on the side-scrolling story portion of the game, the game also switches to a top down view for combat sequences. There, you’ll control skyscraper-sized mechs in turn-based strategy-like combat. You’ll be able to customise these ‘Sentinels’ with an arsenal of weaponry, and fight to defend humanity against monstrous kaiju.

You can check out the trailer for yourself down below. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim arrives on Nintendo Switch from April 12, 2022.
