The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be pre-ordered right now for the Nintendo Switch and there are a number of preorder bonuses up for grabs. We’re here to help you make the right decision when it comes to what to preorder bonus to go for as launch day looms.

What you end up getting as a preorder bonus depends on where you get The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The good news, though, is that there’s some great collectables that are sure to make Zelda fans very happy.

Below, we go through each major retailer, including both the UK and US, and then give our view on what one is the best pre-order bonus for Tears of the Kingdom. Just a word of warning. Unlike some games, there’s no early access or anything like that. Plus, at the time of writing, some pre-order bonuses are no longer available – such as the stunning GameStop Wooden Plaque, which we have omitted from the list. Let’s kick off and see what’s in store.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom pre-order bonuses

GAME – UK

If you’re in the UK, you’ll be able to get your hands on a Tears of the Kingdom Bonus Coin. Note, this Pre-Order Bonus Coin is only available from GAME stores and game.co.uk in the UK. So, if you’re in the US sadly you may want to keep an eye out on ebay after the game has launched as we have a feeling a few of these may make their way on there.

Walmart – US (Sold out)

Now it’s time to show the US Zelda fans some love. Well, sort of. The retailer was offering a wall-based scroll for pre-orders, but these have since sold out. There may be some more in a couple of days but we think that is unlikely. However, some are already turning up on ebay for around $100, so if you’re desperate you may be lucky here.

Best Buy – US

Those who pick it up via Best Buy get a nice-looking art print from the game. It’s a familiar image, one Zelda fans would perhaps have got tired of, but it’s a nice looking piece and is probably our pick of the pre-order bonuses available if you’re based in the US. At the time of writing they also have a page for the Collectors Edition, which can be found here. Be warned, this is expected to sell out fast.

Amazon – US

According to the Nintendo website, if you preorder through Amazon US you’ll receive a bonus poster. Just make sure to double check as like with all these things, it may be limited stock.

Nintendo Store – UK / US

Pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from My Nintendo Store to receive a bonus Collector’s Coin and Luggage Tag. This is essentially one more item than you get with GAME, and so could be attractive to Zelda fans.

Argos – UK

If you pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Argos, you’ll receive a bonus Sticker Sheet. Sure, this isn’t the strongest of the pre-order bonuses, but it’s a nice collectable.

Smyths Toys – UK

If you pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Smyths, you’ll get a bonus Luggage Tag.

The Game Collection – UK

Pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from The Game Collection to receive a bonus poster.

Very – UK

If you pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Very, you will receive a bonus Sticker Sheet.

Shop To – UK

Pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from ShopTo to receive a bonus Poster.

Currys – UK

Pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from Currys to receive a bonus Luggage Tag.

Final thoughts

While the lack of early access is a kicker, but not surprising as Nintendo never do this, there are some decent, if small, collectables and bonuses on offer here. If we had to pick, the Walmart wall scroll was probably the best, but the GAME Coin is now probably the best of the bunch. If the artwork via Best Buy is available, that would be a good back up for those in the US.

If you’re in doubt, the Nintendo Store offering gives you both the coin and a smart luggage tag – so that’s our favourite option if we were to preorder the game today.
