The Warlock class in WoW is one of the most fun ones to play. After all, what’s better than being able to cast demonic curses and summon hellish companions? With the new Dragonflight expansion having just come out, however, many new WoW players are joining the pool of PvP players.

Unfortunately, some Warlock specs are better than others when it comes to PvP (both arenas and battlegrounds) so it’s important to pick the right one before jumping in. It’s necessary to get a strong start if you want a good reward at the end of the season, right?

To help you in picking the right spec, we’ll be going through all three available specs and explaining their pros and cons in both PvP arenas and PvP battlegrounds so you’ll be able to climb the ranks easily.

Best Warlock Spec for PvP in WoW Dragonflight

Demonology

Demonology is probably the Warlock spec that has benefited the most from the Dragonflight update. Although this spec has the same crowd control as all other specs, Demonology Warlocks are harder to kill when alone due to its tankiness, survivability, and exceptional pet options.

But since we’re comparing specs on a PvP basis, the fact of the matter is that the other two are able to benefit a lot more because of teammates, which makes them an ideal option for players looking to challenge themselves against other players. If a Demonology Warlock is left unchecked, however, it can easily burst an enemy down in seconds. But that’s assuming the other players aren’t able to take it down first.

Affliction

Affliction Warlocks are some of the most deadly characters in all of Dragonflight, mostly because of their special skill trees that compliment the general Warlock skill trees. If left alone for just a few seconds, they can easily apply their DoT spells to multiple targets to begin obliterating entire teams at once.

For this reason, we consider affliction to be the best Warlock spec for PvP arenas. You can pair an Affliction Warlock with either a strong healer to keep them alive or with another ranged character to cause double the chaos on the battlefield.

Additionally, while Affliction Warlocks aren’t nearly as proficient with pets as Demonology Warlocks, having the ability to summon a Darkglare is still enough to potentially turn the tide of battle.

Destruction

Last but definitely not least is the Destruction Warlock spec. Although they have wonderful support abilities, their damage is where they really shine. Destruction is in their name after all.

Not only can they deal devastating single target blows, but they’re also able to deal powerful area and split target damage as well. Being able to summon infernals is also invaluable, as they’re able to not only stun the enemy but also deal considerable damage of their own.

Because of these factors, as well as their Backlash talent which is invaluable in PvP battlegrounds especially, we believe that the Destruction Warlock spec is the best for PvP battlegrounds.

Final Thoughts

Although we’ve told you which specs to go for if you want to excel in PvP arenas and battlegrounds, it all still depends on whether you have fun playing a specific class or champion. Therefore, we always recommend you experiment for yourself as much as you can before deciding on the spec or class that’s best for you.
