In order to play The Finals, you need to make an Embark account for the game. When you do so, you will be given a random nickname. Maybe you don’t like the name LateralPanther or whatever nonsense you get randomly assigned Fortunately, you don’t have to stick with the given name – there’s a way to change it to your liking.
How to change your name in The Finals
To change your name in The Finals, you need to do it by using the developer’s official website for the game. You can’t change your name in-game, which means you need to use your phone or computer to log into your Embark account and change your display name.
Random is as random does
With this name, you can either keep it or change it. Everything to do with your Embark account can be tweaked online, so don’t try and look for the option on your console. For those of you who are identity-concious, why not lean into the random name given and not share information?
Each name in The Finals will have a series of numbers after the name, but you should know that these numbers cannot be changed. To log into your account, or create one, you can do so on the website as well. Once on the Embark account page, choose the platform you are going to use to play The Finals: Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation. Instead of entering a chosen name, you will be given a random one by the website.
Once you’ve connected to your The Finals account on the website, you’ll be taken to your Profile settings. This is where you can change your name. Simply click the Edit button and enter the name you wish to use. The string of numbers will remain the same – these represent your unique Embark ID associated with the username. Also note that after changing the name, you won’t be able to change it again for 30 days.
