The suave, French spy, Tekken 8 Victor is one of the new characters joining the series. And while he might be a brand-new character, you might recognise a few of his moves, taking on some of Noctis’ move list from Tekken 7. That being said, he’s still got plenty of new stuff to get to grips with, so we’ve put together his full move list and some beginner combos to get you started.

Be sure to check out our Tekken 8 review for a look at what we made of the game. And if you’re already excited for the upcoming Tekken 8 DLC, we have a guide to tell you everything about that too. With that, let’s get into our Tekken 8 Victor move list and beginner combos.

Victor overview

Victor is a fast, mixup-heavy character, capable of throwing out massive pressure against his opponents. He can drop some great counter-hit launchers into his barrage of jabs to catch people out, leading to massive damage combos. And if that’s not enough, his throws are seemingly glitched for the moment, leading to a smaller throw break window, making it incredibly difficult for anyone but the best players to consistently get out of them.

Alex’s Advice

Right now, Victor’s 1+3 and 2+4 throws have a 14-frame break window compared to the usual 20 frames. This doesn’t sound like much, but it makes it almost impossible to break unless you have lightning fast reactions or just get lucky – make sure to use them often!

While he does have two stances to get used to, once you start using them effectively, this is just another tool in his already varied kit to help you open up your opponent. The key to playing Victor is to constantly pressure your opponent, keeping them guessing with creative mixups and punishing them with high-damage combos.

Tekken notation

Before you can start learning moves and combos, it’s important to know Tekken notation. This helps quickly explain specific inputs in one or two characters instead of having to write out the full thing every time. Our move list and combos use the notation below, so make sure to refer back to it to know exactly what to do.

Victor combos

Victor’s combo game is fairly similar to that of Noctis, making use of quick movement and counter hits to open up the opponent. Here are a few beginner combos for Victor:

  • Combo 1: WS1, d/f4, 2, (during Iai Stance) 2, d/f4, 2, (during Iai Stance) 1, 2, 2
  • Counter Hit Combo: d/b4 (Counter Hit), WS2, d/f4, 2, (during Iai Stance) 2, 4, 3, 2
  • Heat Dash Combo: d/f2, d/f3, 4, (during Heat) f4, 1f, d/f4, 2, (during Iai Stance) 2, d/f4, 2, (during Iai Stance) 1, 2, 2

Victor strategy

Victor is a quick character, so unsurprisingly his combo damage does lack somewhat. But he has some great launchers, both from punishes and on counterhit. With a less-than-ideal poking game, you’ll want to use good movement to bait your opponents, or frame trap them to open up chances to combo. Abuse his throws and low wherever possible for some free chip damage, and you should be golden.

Hopefully this gives you a good platform to start mastering Victor in Tekken 8. If you’re looking for some other character guides, take a look at our Tekken 8 Jin and Tekken 8 Paul guides too.
