If you’re interested in how to install the Starfield DLSS mod, we’re going to cover everything here.

Without native DLSS and ray tracing, modders have had to get creative with their Starfield mods to give themselves a little frame rate boost over the normal FSR implementation. While the actual frame difference is marginal, you’re going to be seeing a much sharper image than that of AMD’s upscaling software. With a compatible Nvidia graphics card – you should definitely be using Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), though you’re going to have two options after we go over how to install it.

Recently, the creator of Starfield’s DLSS mod came under fire from the community, partly due to their earnings from the mod. The community was largely split between whether or not mods should be protected by paywalls and thus, DRM. One of the reasons for this becoming such a large debate was due to there being a free version of Starfield’s DLSS 2 mod, alongside a better paid version of the DLSS 3 mod.

It’s entirely your choice which of these to choose, however we’d highly recommend using the DLSS 3 mod for the latest and highest performing version of the game. Higher and sharper resolutions, alongside the latest frame generation technology (for those running RTX 40-series graphics cards).
