As part of the Stalker 2 The Price Goes up mission, the man in charge of Slag Heap, Nestor, has gone missing. Diode will send you off to investigate a workshop in an abandoned Hydroelectric Station in the Garbage region of the zone. When you reach the station, you’ll hit a locked door that requires a key card to open it. But, luckily, there’s another way to get in. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get the key card, examine the workshop for any clues, and complete The Price Goes Up mission.

Examine the workshop for clues

Head to the Hydroelectric Station to the southwest of Slag Heap per the marker on your map, which is not too far from the house you’ll need to investigate for the No Honor Among Thieves mission. Once there, dart inside the brick building to avoid being damaged by the flashing anomaly. Stand in the doorway and you’ll see an upright concrete cylinder with the side blown off. Jump into it and smash the planks below using your knife. Head left into an engine room.

Look right and you’ll see a scanner spewing out electricity. There are also two thermal anomalies on the ground. Use bolts to subdue them temporarily then dart over to the body on the other side, avoiding the electric current as best you can. Loot Mykytos Chapman’s body to get Diode’s Workshop Key Card.

Leave the workshop using the key card

Backtrack to the other side of the engine room. Follow the corridor ahead and use bolts to clear out the thermal anomalies, then quickly climb up the ladder to reach the building above. Head into the room on the right and loot the crate to get a High-Capacity M10 Magazine, medkits, ammo, and food. Use the key card on the door and exit.

Show Diode the key card

Make your way back to the Slag Heap. Hand over the key card to Diode. The key card used to belong to Nestor. He’ll give you coordinates to a stash to rummage through Nestor’s old notes.

Search Nestor’s stash

Fortunately, the stash isn’t too far away and is in Slag Heap, as marked on the map. Head outside, then climb the scaffolding on your right. When you reach the top, jump across to the collapsed crane arm and head right. Follow the quest marker up the hill until you reach an old white and blue bus. Go through the bus and press on down the grassy path and into a cave. Make your way up, avoiding the toxic anomaly, until you reach a ladder then climb out. Go towards the figure standing on the crane jutting out from the hill.

Turns out it’s Richter. Sit through the cut scene and select the dialogue option you want. Richter will give a token for a free ride on the Prypiat ferris wheel. Walk to the end of the crane and loot the stash lodged between the metal slates. Inside, you’ll find an M860 Cracker, medkits, grenades, anti-radiation drugs, and, more importantly for the purpose of The Price Goes Up mission, Nestor’s Flash Drive.

Find any clues about the Scanner scheme – Look around the Labyrinth

Head to the Maze point of interest to the northwest of Slag Heap as marked on the map. Clear out the rats near the entrance, then press in deeper until you spot several bodies by a bus emitting a light. Several Stalkers will show up. Take them out. One of them, named Boomstick, has the PDA of a Varan’s bandit on his body. Loot it. Doing so will wrap up The Price Goes Up main mission and start the Deal with the Devil mission.

Find any clues about the Scanner scheme – Enter the Dig Site

If you prefer, you can visit the Dig Site instead; the outcome is the same. Head to the marker on the map, and enter the cave near the abandoned shack. Deal with the small hooded mutants by shooting them when they aren’t conjuring, then grab the same PDA from Dimon Stiff’s body.
