Looking to find and catch Tepig in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? This little fire pig was introduced as a starter in Generation V and has remained popular ever since. And, you can find them in the Indigo Disk DLC.
With over 200 Pokémon available in the Indigo Disk Pokédex, you’ll need to spend time grinding if you want to catch them all. While completing Blueberry Quests and finishing the DLC story will get you quite far, some Pokémon are harder to get than others. How do you catch Tepig and evolve them in Indigo Disk? We’re here to show you how.
Where to find Tepig
Tepig is located in the Canyon Biome of Terarium after you’ve upgraded the biodiversity of the biome at Blueberry Academy. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to find Tepig until upgrading the Canyon Biome.
To upgrade the Canyon Biome, head to Blueberry Academy and then go to the League Club Room. Interact with the computer and select Contribute BP. Scroll down until you find ‘Boost biodiversity in the Canyon Biome’ available from the Terarium Club. It will cost 3,000 BP to upgrade.
Once you’ve completed the upgrade, you’re able to find Tepig. Luckily, this Pokémon is pretty plentiful in the area, but a quick place to locate it is in the Southern part of the Canyon Biome, just West of where it meets the Savanna Biome.
Tepig is pretty small, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this little fire pig. Once you encounter them, you’re able to catch them and add Tepig to your party.
How to evolve Tepig into Pignite and Emboar
Now that you’ve got Tepig, you’re going to want to evolve them into Pignite, then Emboar to get the most out of the Pokémon. Luckily, evolving Tepig is very straightforward. You just need to continue leveling them.
Tepig evolves into Pignite at level 17.
Pignite then evolves into Emboar at level 36.
Level up
Keep Tepig in your party of Pokémon if you’re looking to level them up. Even if you don’t actually use them in battle, they’ll still gain party EXP and be at level 17 in no time.
Tepig abilities and stats
Tepig is a Fire-type Pokémon that is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock attacks. They have two abilities – Blaze and Thick Fat. Here are the Pokémon’s base stats:
Stats | Total |
HP | 65 |
Attack | 63 |
Defense | 45 |
Special Attack | 45 |
Special Defense | 45 |

These stats will continue to increase in value as you level and evolve the Pokémon.
