To catch Chimchar you must upgrade the Polar Biome of the Terarium. This is done by contributing 3,000 BP to the Terarium Club at the League Club Room computer. Once you do this, more Pokemon will appear like Chimchar, Oshawott, and Scorbunny.
Chimchar is mainly found throughout the southern portion of the Polar Biome. We were able to locate Chimchar very easily along the western edge of the biome but have also spotted it in the central section of the region.
You will encounter Chimchar between levels 50 and 70. Be sure to bring a Pokemon that knows the move False Swipe to make it so Chimchar doesn’t faint during the battle.

To evolve Chimchar, you simply need to level it up. Chimchar evolves into Monferno at level 14. Monferno then evolves into Infernape at level 36. Since you will catch Chimchar at a higher level, you will only need to level it up once to get Monferno, and then you can level up Monferno once to get Infernape.
Strengths and weaknesses
Chimchar is a fire-type Pokemon that evolves into a fire and fighting-type Pokemon. Infernape is weak to water, flying, ground, and psychic-type moves. This Pokemon is resistant to fire, grass, ice, bug, dark, and steel-type moves.
Chimchar and its evolutions have the following abilities:
