How to catch Moltres in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
If you want to encounter Moltres, you need to complete 100 Blueberry Quests (BBQs) for Mr. Snacksworth. He will then give you the Moltres Treat. If you are playing Pokemon Scarlet, you will need to complete group quests to get the Moltres Treat. You are only able to get this legendary treat in Pokemon Violet by completing solo quests.
Once you have this treat in your inventory, Moltres will appear in the Paldea region, giving you the chance to go capture it. We recommend stocking up on Ultra Balls before you head out to get catch it.
Moltres Location in Pokemon Indigo Disk
After completing 100 Blueberry Quests, Mr. Snacksworth will tell you that he found Moltres as a young boy when he was rock climbing in the desert of Paldea. Of course, this means the Asado Desert on the western side of Paldea.
Fly to the Asado Desert Watchtower and head north. You will find Moltres at the top of the large cliffs overlooking the path leading out of the desert.
How to catch Moltres
Moltres is a rather annoying legendary Pokemon that doesn’t like to stay in a PokeBall. To make things easier, bring a water-type Pokemon since Moltres is weak to water. You should also bring a Pokemon that knows the move Fury Swipes so you don’t accidentally make Moltres faint.
Status-inflicting moves are the best to use here. You want to try not to bring Moltres too low on health because a sandstorm can kick up in the area at any moment.
Type advantages are key
Moltres tends to use the move Endure at the start of the battle. This is a great opportunity to use a strong rock or water move to weaken this Pokemon and get it ready to catch. Moltres is weak to both rock and water-type moves.

When you encounter Moltres, it will be level 70 just like all the other legendary Pokemon from the DLC. Moltres has the following abilities:

- Flame Body – The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with burn when using an attack that requires physical contact
- Berserk – Boosts the Pokemon’s Sp. Attack when it takes a hit that causes its HP to become half or less
