How to catch Terapagos in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC
To catch Terapagos, you need to progress through the Indigo Disk DLC. You will automatically encounter this Pokemon as part of the Indigo Disk main story. After competing against the BB League, defeating the Elite Four, and taking down Kieran, Ms. Briar will take you, Carmine, and Kieran to Area Zero.
The story will have you explore the depths of Area Zero and encounter new Tera Types. When you get far enough done, Kieran will pull a crystal out and it will transform into Terapagos. During this time, Kieran will catch the Pokemon in a Master Ball and then challenge you to a battle.
Terapagos is only weak to one type of move and that is Fighting-type. Unfortunately, if used first, Terapagos will take the typing of Fighting, and future moves will be useless. We found luck using a rock-type move first and then beating Terapagos with fighting-type moves.
During the fight, Terapagos has the following moves:
- Ancient Power
- Tera Starstorm
- Zen Headbutt
- Water Pulse
This is a solid moveset that gives it a range. Using an electric-type for fairy-type Pokemon seems to be the way to go here.
After this fight, a short cutscene will play out and then Terapagos will break free from its Master Ball and challenge you, Kieran, and Carmine to a Tera Raid Battle.
Carmine will most likely have her Pokemon fall within the first three rounds of the fight. Be sure to Terrastalize your Pokemon as soon as you can to help you with the fight. Kieran will join in late into the fight. Once it is over, you will have a guaranteed catch just like any other Tera Raid Battle.

Carmine will be the first to help during the fight by bringing out Sinistcha. When you have brought Terapagos’ health down to about a third, Kieran will join the fight with Hydrapple.
Terapagos Stat Block and Abilities
Terapagos has the following abilities:
- Tera Shift – When the Pokemon enters a battle, it absorbs the energy around itself and transforms into its Terastal Form.
- Tera Shell – The Pokemon’s shell contains the powers of each type. All damage-dealing moves that hit the Pokemon when its HP is full will not be very effective.
- Teraform Zero – When Terapagos changes into its Stellar Form, it uses its hidden powers to eliminate all effects of weather and terrain, reducing them to zero.
