- Blueprints are guaranteed drops from Mystical Crates in points of interests with a Rift Anchor
- You can also pull and buy Blueprint using the Wish Machine in exchange for Starchrom
Without Blueprints, you’re pretty limited as to what weapons and armour you craft at a Gear Workbench. You’ll unlock a few through Memetic skills, but it’s slim pickings unless you track down Blueprints. Jumping into the game, it can be a little confusing figuring out how the system works and how to obtain these Blueprints as they aren’t researched like in other survival crafting games. Instead, they are looted when out and about exploring the map.
But, they aren’t just found lying around and instead require investigating one of the many marked points of interest across the map. We’ll walk you through the two methods to get Blueprints. For more early game help, check out our top tips and tricks.
Where to get Blueprints in Once Human
To get Blueprints, or more specifically Blueprint Fragments, you’ll need to loot Mystical Crates in points of interest across the map. Each crate is guaranteed to contain Blueprint Fragments for a specific weapon or piece of armour, but which one you’ll get is randomised.
Mystical Crates are found across the game’s six major regions at any point of interest that houses a Rift Anchor. For example, in the starting Dayton Wetlands region, there are Mystical Crates in Throughville, Sutherland Family Orchard, Coastside Plaza, Citrus County, Brookham, Overlook Town, and Rotten Manor.
Alternatively, you can also get Blueprints from the Wish Machine. This is a facility you can build inside your Territory base that acts in a similar way as a gacha machine. You make pulls for a chance to win Blueprint Fragments from a set pool of weapons. Alongside, you can also buy specific Blueprints from the Wish Machine Shop. Both methods require Starchrom, a rare currency.
How to use Blueprints
Once you have Blueprint Fragments for a specific weapon or armour, tap i to bring up the inventory and navigate to the Blueprints tab along the top. Hover over any item that has a golden puzzle piece in the top right then hold down F to Fuse and unlock the Blueprint.
From there, you can craft the item at a Gear Workbench as long as you have the required materials. Each weapon and piece of armour comes in several tiers, with each one representing a significant upgrade on the next in terms of raw stats.
