The Most Wanted deck is another foray into a life of crime for Magic: The Gathering. All of the Outlaws of Thunder Junction precons are now revealed fully, we know the Commanders leading them, and we can understand the color combinations behind them too.

Olivia, Opulent Outlaw is the Commander spurring the Most Wanted onwards, and is a Vampire Assassin building off Black, White and Red Mana.

The Most Wanted decklist so far

We know that Olivia, Opulent Outlaw is the Commander in-charge of this deck. It’s a Mardu deck, though Olivia is a slightly disappointing card so far. It’s not necessarily anything out of the ordinary for a Mardu deck, which generally leans on the simple side of ‘do damage, gain health’.

What is interesting, though, is the incorporation of the outlaws group into the card’s ability, meaning it’s going to be useful for all decks using cards designated as criminals.

Olivia Voldaren is not a new character to MTG, having been introduced during the Shadows over Innistrad storyline. Now though, she’s a Vampire Assassin as opposed to a standard Vampire.

Upgrade suggestions for Most Wanted in EDH

If you’re looking to build this deck out competitively, then you’re already going to have a wealth of Vampire cards that can play into this Mardu deck pretty well. That’s one of the biggest criticisms of the precon so far – that it’s not different enough from any of the Vampire Mardu Lifesteal decks we’ve been using for years now. There’s a huge disparity between Most Wanted’s lack of innovation and the competitive design of the Grand Larceny deck.

✓ Amaar’s Advice

Get your garlic out

While you’re going to want to focus on Outlaws primarily, most of the standard Mardu Vampires will fit in well into this deck, if they’re not there already. Vein Ripper, Ichor Drinker, Floria, Voladren Scion and others.

With the Red aggro archetype running strong through the deck, the importance of collecting Treasure tokens to buff your other cards is going to be a potent resource not just for Mana ramping.

It doesn’t look like the Most Wanted deck is going to come close to the best Commander precons, though with a few upgrades it’s certainly possible.
