Mortal Kombat 1 players have lots to look forward to next week. Not only is John Cena from the Suicide Squad joining the game, but MK1 is also getting cross-platform multiplayer. Or, as NetherRealm calls it, ‘krossplay’. Here you will find the Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay release date so you know exactly when you can start fatally butchering friends across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

As alluded to, the release date for Peacemaker from Suicide Squad is now set. He is one of the biggest crossovers taking place in Kombat Pack 1 alongside Omni Man and Homelander. Both Omni Man and Peacemaker are great additions to the MK1 roster, and what makes them especially great is that they are voiced by their corresponding actors, J.K. Simmons and John Cena.

Getting ready to see one of WWE’s biggest stars of the PG Era enter the world of 18+ violence and brutality is massively exciting. And the cherry on top of the cake is that his arrival coincides with the long-awaited launch of crossplay.

Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay release date

The release date for Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay is February 28th. This is the exact same day Peacemaker from Suicide Squad will join the game, too. Both Peacemaker and cross-platform multiplayer will be added in the same patch.

If you plan on getting Peacemaker, know that he is only part of Kombat Pack 1 until March 6th. You will instantly unlock him if you have Kombat Pack 1 already, but, if you don’t own the bundle, you can purchase him separately a week later.

John Cena’s Peacemaker will be followed by Janet Cage. The release window for this OG character kombatant is ‘later in March’.

How does MK1 cross-platform multiplayer work?

Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay and cross-platform multiplayer will only work for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For PC, it will work for both Steam and the Epic Games store. MK1 on Nintendo Switch will not support the feature at all, which is hardly surprising seeing as the Switch version is laughably unplayable.
