While this may seem like a common sense question, accepting lobby invites is a genuine issue that Switch players face in Monster Hunter Rise. We have covered the process of co-op gameplay in our guide here. Let us now take a look at the lobby invite issue that has been plaguing many players. Note that this will not work for Village Quests as those are meant for single-players only.

This guide will explain how to accept lobby invites and other alternative forms of joining your friends for co-op monster hunting.

Accepting Lobby Invites On PC

On PC, we suggest using the Steam functionality to invite and join your friend’s lobbies.

Inviting A Friend

You can create a lobby through the Courier found in the middle of Kamura. Then just head to the Friend panel on Steam to invite your friends directly. We suggest putting a password on your lobby to prevent uninvited guests.

Accepting Lobby Invite

You can either accept a Lobby invite from within the game or use the Steam Join Game button. We suggest clicking on ‘Join Game’ and then heading over to Monster Hunter Rise and talking to the Courier. From here, click on the Accept Lobby Invite button from the Courier menu and input the lobby password to enter your friend’s lobby.

Accepting Lobby Invites On Nintendo Switch

Unfortunately, there is no way to actually accept the Lobby Invite notification you receive on your Nintendo Switch system. The lobby invite is just a glorified way to tell you that a friend of yours wishes to play with you.

Luckily you can still easily join your friends with the use of the Lobby system by talking to the Courier in Kamura. Simply input a communicated Lobby ID and password to join your friends in their lobbies. It’s just a shame that there is no direct method to accept lobby invites, as this can definitely result in issues for players who can’t directly communicate.

Final Thoughts

Monster Hunter Rise has a pretty well-made multiplayer system that generally works quite efficiently. Accepting lobby invites through Steam is as easy as any other game, and you won’t face much trouble in this besides talking to the Courier. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch does not share this easy-to-use functionality, and you will have to set up and communicate lobby information with your friends manually.
