How to Pack-A-Punch weapon in MW3

If you spend a bit of time exploring Urzikstan in MW3 zombies, you’ll realise that there are many weapon-enhancing tools around the map. And much like the Ray Gun, the Pack-A-Punch machine is a fundamental component of MW3 zombies as it’ll make you appear more formidable in taking on the undead.

Now to find the Pack-A-Punch machine in MW3 zombies, you’ll have to open the map and locate the Pack-A-Punch machine icon which is displayed by the Legend next to the map. It’s not a straightforward concept like previous games where you only have one Pack-A-Punch machine in the entire map.

Despite having more Pack-A-Punch machines, this doesn’t exactly make them easy to find. And since Urzikstan is an incredibly large map, some machines are hidden away in the farthest corners of the map where most players wouldn’t even consider looking in order to find them. So it’s up to you how far you’re willing to travel to find one of the machines.

✓ ISA’s tip

Urzikstan is a gold mine this time

Apart from killing zombies and getting XP or locating Pack-A-Punch machines to upgrade your weapons, Urzikstan is a fantastic map with plenty of opportunities to scavenge and find incredible items.

Once you’ve found a Pack-A-Punch machine, now you just have to use it. But first, you’ll need to have garnered lots of Essence by killing zombies and completing contracts. Once you have enough Essence, simply walk up to the machine and collect an upgraded version of your equipped weapon.

Upgrading weapon with Essence

MW3 zombies have three main zones you’ll need to travel to if you want access to higher-level upgrades of your weapon. And however you progress, the cost of upgrading will also increase as follows:

  • Zone 1 (Clear Zone): requires 5000 Essence
  • Zone 2 (Orange Zone): requires 10,000 Essence
  • Zone 3 (Red Zone): requires 15,000 Essence

Ultimately, Pack-A-Punch is much easier this time around as opposed to earlier zombie iterations where you’d have to activate the power, locate the machine, and upgrade your weapon using points. Now you can find not one but multiple Pack-A-Punch machines throughout the map.
