Want to try the New Zealand trick in Lords of the Fallen? This clever trick may just allow you to get into Hexwork’s new Souls-like RPG a few hours early, if you know how to pull it off.

Here, we’re going to quickly walk you through the New Zealand trick in Lords of the Fallen, what it is, and how to do it. If you want to make the most of these first few hours though, make sure to start things off right with the best starting class and the best graphics settings.

What is the New Zealand trick and does it work in Lords of the Fallen?

You should be able to use the New Zealand trick with Lords of the Fallen. Here’s how it works.

Because many games launch at the same time relative to local time zones, players can sometimes trick the system by altering their clock settings on their device. For example, Lords of the Fallen will launch at exactly midnight on 13 October for all time zones, at least on console. Unfortunately the following trick doesn’t work on PC.

By going into settings on your Xbox or Playstation console, you can change the time zone that it’s set in. And because New Zealand is the furthest ahead on the clocks than most other places, setting your clock to New Zealand’s time zone can trick your console into believing the release window has arrived, unlocking the game at the same moment it unlocks in New Zealand. Keep in mind that we can’t guarantee the trick’s success, but given that the console launch time is universal, there’s no reason to believe that it won’t work.

That’s the New Zealand trick in Lords of the Fallen explained. As you just start out, you’ll have to come to grips with a lot of different mechanics in pretty quick succession. If you find yourself lost or overwhelmed and want some help with anything from how to kick to how to enter and exit the Umbral Realm, we’ve got you covered.
