Deralium Shards in Lords of the Fallen are upgrade items that you can get and give to Gerlinde in exchange for weapon and shield upgrades. Different types of Deralium are needed to upgrade your gear to different levels.

Each upgrade from the Blacksmith will cost a different number and type of Deralium. This can range from Small Deralium Fragments to Deralium Chunks.

How to farm Small Deralium Fragments in Lords of the Fallen

Small Deralium Fragments are the first type of upgrade material you will get your hands on. These can be purchased from Gerlinde at Skyrest Bridge for 500 Vigor each. She has an infinite number of them available for sale therefore making it the best way to get them.

If you don’t feel like wasting Vigor or would rather get Vigor and farm the fragments at the same time, head to the Vestige of Valade in the Forsaken Fen. Here, you will find multiple Shuja Warriors. These enemies drop Small Deralium Fragments pretty frequently and are a good source of Vigor early on in the game. They are also a pretty easy-to-kill enemy type.

In the swamp area, you can activate a shortcut where multiple Shuja Warriors can be found near a ladder, making them easy to farm. Another method of farming this upgrade material is defeating the Pilgrim Mages near the Vestige of Blind Agatha.

How to farm Regular Deralium Nuggets in Lords of the Fallen

Regular Deralium Shards are a little more difficult to obtain than Small Deralium Fragments. To farm this upgrade material, go to the Vestige of Catrin fast travel point in the Sunless Skeins Hoist area. Here, you can fight multiple enemies that drop Regular Deralium Nuggets.

Another method of farming this upgrade material is to head back to the Forsaken Fen. The Shuja Warriors in the area also drop Regular Deralium Nuggets, making it a great place to get your hands on the material and get some extra Vigor in the process. This is the area after the Congregator of Flesh boss.

There is also an Umbral Flowerbed later on in the level where you can place a Vestige Seed to make farming easier.

How to farm Large Deralium Shards in Lords of the Fallen

The best means of getting Large Deralium Shards is by defeating Holy Bulwarks. This is the same enemy type as the first boss in the game. The farming location can be found by going to the Vestige of Brother Jeremiah in the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers area.

From this Vestige, simply run out of the door and defeat the Holy Bulward. You can then rest at the Vestige and repeat the process, making this a simple and effective means of farming the upgrade item. You can also use your Umbral Lamp to Soulflay the enemy, making him easier to kill.

There are only a few Deralium Chunks in the game. They can be found in the following areas:
