As you tackle fearsome foes and other monstrosities in Mournstead, you will need to be quick on your feet to avoid harm which is why it is important to know how to dodge in Lords of the Fallen.

As with any soulslike game, dodging will be your bread and butter, and your most reliable way to get out of harm’s way completely unscathed. It is typically more reliable than parrying and blocking, but it depends on your playstyle. Dodging is more meta in this game, which is why you should be doing it more.

How to dodge in Lords of the Fallen

To dodge, simply press the Circle button (PS5) or the B button (Xbox) while facing the direction you want to dodge. Once pushed, your character will heedlessly thrust themselves in that direction and perform a dodge that grants you a brief window of invincibility frames. This means you can’t be hurt by enemy attacks during certain parts of your rolling animation.

As with any soulslike game, dodging consumes stamina, and if you spam it, you will quickly burn through your bar which is never a good idea. Anyone familiar with Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Demon’s Souls, or Bloodborne will understand this specific stamina-based dodging system. Dodging is always your best option when it comes to surviving enemy attacks. Timing can be tricky, but it is better than risking a missed parry and leaving yourself wide open to being hit.
