Is Like a Dragon Gaiden getting a physical release? Yakuza fans are wondering if they’ll be able to get their hands on a physical copy of the upcoming spinoff featuring Kiryu.

If you’re itching to try the game, here’s the Like a Dragon Gaiden release date. And check if Like a Dragon Gaiden is on Game Pass.

Is Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name digital-only

While the official website promises a disc-based physical release for Asia, this is only for PlayStation consoles. This will allow PS4 versions of the game to be played on the PS5 consoles with disc drives. And this means that the PC and Xbox versions will be digital-only.

A digital-only title is disappointing for longtime fans who have collected discs of previous Yakuza titles across multiple console generations. While this may change later on, there is no physical release for most platforms, especially outside Asia. Players in the US will have to access the game through digital storefronts like Steam. As for PlayStation users in Asia, outlets like Playasia already let you preorder a physical copy of the game.

That covers the odds of a physical release of Like a Dragon Gaiden. Check if Like a Dragon Gaiden has Early Access options before purchasing a copy. The new game has a lot of neat upgrades for both returning players and newcomers. You’ll get to meet a host of recognizable characters like Goro Majima and Daigo Dojima. Some of these characters are even playable in the game’s arena mode. As for the main storyline, you’ll be undertaking a covert mission on behalf of the Daidoji faction.

The game releases on November 9 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Like a Dragon Gaiden has last-gen console support, letting even the Xbox One and PS4 players join in on this adventure. Don’t expect the same degree of visual fidelity or performance from the older consoles though.
