First, you must reach chapter 9 to unlock the game’s factions – the Circle of Fortune and the Merchant’s Guild. Afterwards choose which guild you want to side with and then complete their associated quests. This will increase your favor with the guild.
How to gain favor in Last Epoch – earn item faction favor
Before you can gain favor in Last Epoch, you must reach Chapter 9 and unlock the factions. At this point, you’ll be able to choose between the Circle of Fortune and the Merchant’s Guild. Once you have chosen which guild you want to side with, simply complete quests like you normally would.
You gain favor in Last Epoch, you just need to kill enemies around Eterra and complete recurring quests. This will increase your rank within the faction after you earn enough favor. You will not be given designated enemy types to fight or locations to visit so earning favor is really quite simple. Just kill as many hordes of enemies as you can. You don’t even need to worry about killing designated bosses. By the time you are done with the main campaign, you should have earned a decent amount of favor.

Circle of Fortune
The Circle of Fortune faction is better for those who are playing solo or with a small group. This group focuses on getting you more unique and exalted items without dealing with other players in the process. Circle of Fortune is leveled up by purchasing prophecies from the observatory in Maj’elka which will reward you with items based on set conditions.
You can speak to the NPC named Galila to purchase lenses and equip them on the different telescopes in the observatory. These accessories increase your chances of finding items with legendary potential, powerful affixes, and more. The higher your faction rank, the better lenses you can purchase leading you to get better items.
Merchant’s Guild
The Merchant’s Guild is all about item trading and is better if you are playing online with other players. This guild opens up the Bazaar in the city of Maj, granting you access to more trading options. The Bazaar is full of different stalls that specialize in selling armour, weapons, and other types of items.
You can use the auction house to trade your items and set filters to find specific gear you might be looking for. This is a great way to find unique weapons or rare items but is better if you are playing with others in a guild or have a larger community.
