As you explore Bohemia in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll spend a lot of time wheeling and dealing looted armor and weapons with traders to turn a tidy profit. While you can happily settle for their offered prices, there’s the option to increase your profits or lower the asking prices if you’re in the market for a new sword or gambeson.
As with most things in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, haggling has an embedded risk and reward system: push a merchant too far and you risk killing the deal entirely. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to haggle in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 to help you get the best deals possible.
Haggling explained
To haggle, visit a merchant in any village, town, or settlement, then pick the items you want to buy and sell, then hold the Haggle prompt as outlined in the bottom-right of your screen (hold X on PC). You’ll then enter the haggling screen, which is not far off a mini-game like lockpicking or Dice.

On your right, you’ll see a vertical meter with a line denoting the current price of the deal. You can move this line up or down to make the price higher or lower and make an offer, regardless of whether you’re selling or buying. If the price suits the trader, they’ll accept and the deal will be done. They can, however, respond with a counter-offer, which you can counter with yet another offer, and so on until you reach an agreement.
However, to complicate matters, the merchant has an impatience level that will fill up the more you haggle. If it fills up, the merchant will back out from the deal and you’ll lose reputation. Also, if you go in too strongly with a low-ball offer (or too high a price if you’re selling), the impatience level will rise rapidly.
How to get the best deal
The key to haggling successfully is pushing the price as low or high as you can without filling up the impatience level, and always moving the price to meet the merchant when they counter offer without meeting their offer. You can do this up to two times for each haggling process before things get dicey and you risk botching the deal. Avoid going in with an unrealistic offer to void filling up the impatience level. This will give you more space to maneuver as the process progresses.
