With the upcoming release of vampire co-op shooter Redfall, many prospective players are asking is Redfall crossplay?

The game sees four players teaming up as vampire hunters, taking on a world of bloodsucking supernatural monsters. Of course, it’s not as simple as just stakes to hearts, as both sides will have a wealth of deadly powers and abilities they’ll need to take full advantage of to clean up the night. Working together is also a big part of the game, and so naturally players want to know how easy it’ll be to team up with friends. (Providing they meet the Redfall System Requirements of course.)

Redfall, being published by Microsoft, will be available for Xbox and PC across both Windows and Steam – but how easy will it be to play together? Let’s answer that now.

Is Redfall crossplay?

Yes, Redfall does support crossplay between Xbox, Steam and Game Pass versions. This information was confirmed during a Q&A back in March. Fans were invited to submit questions, and this included one from QuietGamer90 who asked “In regards to crossplay, can we play with Steam friends while on Game Pass version or would we need to all be on the same platform?” To which Arkane responded “Yes, you can definitely play with your friends on Steam friends on Game Pass.”

Therefore, it shouldn’t matter where you’re playing the game, you’ll be able to slay vamps together once the Redfall release time drops on May 5.

The game comes from Arkane Austin, who were previously behind such games as Dishonored and Deathloop. Like those, Redfall promises an open world, and despite the co-op multiplayer slant the shooter will also be heavily story based. Each hero will have their own upgradable skills, and there’ll be a bunch of customisable weapons for you to take back the night with your friends.

Redfall arrives on Xbox Series X|S and PC from May 2 and is playable from Day One via Xbox Game Pass.
