What Will Happen To Pokémon Bank After The eShop Closes Down?

While Pokémon Bank is still available for download from the eShop till March 2023, the app will vanish for good for those who have yet to download it after the date hits. But those who have already got the app on their devices are in luck as not only will they be able to re-download the app, but they’ll enjoy cost-free service after the eShop closes.

Since there’s still time to grab Pokémon Bank from the eShop on your 3DS and Wii U, we recommend making a run over there. After all, once the date hits, all those mons on your 3DS, which could be transferred to Switch games will be wasted.

Moreover, we also recommend waiting on a Pokémon Bank subscription since its services will be entirely free in just a few months. This will save you some bucks that you could spend somewhere more meaningful.

As far as ending the complete services of Pokémon Bank is concerned, there’s no such announcement. It was only for the eShop, and its closure will not affect any game or app already downloaded on your devices. So players can go on using Pokémon Bank even after the eShop ceases its services.
