Ways For Unlocking Valorant Agents

Locked Agents can be made available by earning experience through a constant grind, or you can bypass this hectic process and purchase Valorant Points (VPs) to unlock them almost instantly.

If you’re new to Valorant, the game will allow you to open an Agent for free at level 5 and level 10. Apart from that, you’ll need to either work hard to unlock Agents or spend some cash. We’ve explained both ways below:

1. Getting Experience

Each Agent, when locked, has 10 tiers, and each tier requires a specific amount of XP before you can progress to the next. After you’ve gained enough XP to unlock the first five tiers, the Agent will be unlocked and available for you to try and test into the battlefield.

However, a locked Agent won’t automatically start leveling up its tiers. You’ll have to go to the Agents Screen and click the Activate option in green to ensure that the leveling-up procedure begins the next time you gain experience in the game.

Experience can only be gained by playing the different game modes in Valorant, which include Unrated, Competitive, Spike Rush, Escalation, and Replication. You won’t get any sort of XP by playing custom matches or training in the Range. Moreover, you can also get a ton of XP by completing your daily and weekly missions in the same game modes we just listed.

2. Spending Valorant Points

While grinding the old-fashioned way works, sometimes you’re just not up to playing several games of Unrated or Competitive before you can test out an Agent you always wanted to. However, there’s no need for despair. Riot provides you with a way to wrap around that tiresome process by purchasing tiers with the help of VPs.

You can buy each tier till level 5 with Valorant Points in the successive manner described below:

  1. Tier 1 → 200 VP
  2. Tier 2 → 400 VP
  3. Tier 3 → 600 VP
  4. Tier 4 → 800 VP
  5. Tier 5 → 1000 VP

So, in short, it would take you 3000 VP to unlock an entirely new Agent.

Final Thoughts

To sum it up, you can either team up with your buddies to make the whole process of unlocking Agents fun and less burdensome on your bank account, or if you’re impatient, always spend some money to skip the tedious process. With that said, we hope this guide was helpful in explaining the Agent-unlocking process. Let us know in the comments if you have any more questions! Â
