Valorant has been crushing the competitive FPS scene with its interesting agents and scintillating gameplay. While the game lays heavy stress on teamwork, as the abilities of each team member are essential for securing rounds, you’ll oftentimes find yourself in a game where a teammate disconnects before the second round.

Admittedly, winning with a member shortage is near impossible. However, Valorant provides you with a way to avoid losing your ranked games like this, with the help of their Remake feature. Want to learn more about remaking in Valorant, and how you can prevent throwing your RR (rank rating) down the drain? Keep on reading!

Remaking The Match In Valorant

Being in a 4v5 situation makes the match extraordinarily unbalanced and unfair, as each player’s role is vital to winning. Even if the disconnected player re-joins a later into the game, losing the first few rounds snowballs into a massive round deficit which may be challenging to overcome later on.

While remaking is a great way to prevent unfortunate losses, the technique can only be employed in certain situations. Let’s check them out.

When Can You Remake The Match In Valorant?

Remake cancels the match, completely nullifying it, but initiating it may not be as straightforward as it seems. Certain conditions must be fulfilled before you can effectively commence a Remake vote. Here’s a list of conditions that need to be fulfilled if you want a successful remake:

  • In a 4v5 situation, one of your team members disconnects during the 1st pistol round and is not spawned during the 2nd round.
  • Remaking is impossible in a party of 5 members, even if one of the players disconnects.
  • A Remake vote can be initiated during the buying phase of the 2nd round as the 1st pistol round ends.
  • Buying phase lasts for 30 seconds, and each team member has to vote during it.
  • No other opportunity for Remake is given if the initial vote fails.
  • You can only remake in the Unrated and Competitive modes of the game.

How To Remake In Valorant?

If the conditions described earlier are met, you can initiate Remake. Follow the steps described next to understand how to Remake.

  1. Press Enter to bring up your in-game chat.
  2. Type the /remake command in the chat and hit Enter.
  3. Doing so initiates the remake vote.
  4. All available members of the team have to press F5 or select yes on their screen to complete the voting.

A Remake is only possible when all team members vote for it unanimously. If a single team member presses F6 or chooses the No option, the remake will get canceled, and you will not get a 2nd opportunity to cancel the match.

Rank Penalties After Remake

No penalty is incurred on any players in the server after the Remake. The match simply gets canceled, and no record of it appears in your matches history either.

However, the disconnected players are not that lucky. They get penalized for a complete match loss, and their rank rating is deducted accordingly. Furthermore, they get a possible “abandon penalty”, resulting in a temporary ban from competitive games. The duration of the ban ranges from a few minutes to several weeks depending on how frequently they abandon games.

Final Thoughts

We understand how frustrating it is to lose rank ratings in a lopsided match because some random person decides to disconnect. However, the ability to Remake gives players a fair chance, so they don’t have to get penalized due to someone else deciding to disconnect from the game.
