The best part of the Holiday season is something something goodwill. But also, the presents. Fortnite knows this as well as anybody, hence it’s offering a bunch of freebies to players in its Winterfest event.

But how do you claim these gifts, you may be asking? (Or we assume so if you found this guide.) Never fear, we’re here to help.

Here’s the lowdown on how to get your grubby mitts on these gifts.

How to open presents in Fortnite Winterfest 2022

Getting to your presents is very straightforward. When you boot up the game, you’ll find yourself in the Lobby. Now it’s a case of heading to the Snowflake tab by hitting the right shoulder button on console, and clicking on PC.

This should then give you a screen where you can visit the lodge – also known as Crackshot’s Cabin. Here you’ll see a bunch of presents on the floor. Press A/X/B/LMB to pick one up, just as you would any other weapon.

Once it’s in your hands, press and hold the button prompted (either X, Square, Y or E depending on which console you’re on) to open up the gift.

If you currently can’t open a present, that means you’ve probably already opened that day’s present. You’re only able to open one a day, which you can see from the timer on screen. Make sure it’s hit midnight before you attempt to open the next present.

If you’ve missed a present, however, you should be able to keep opening them until you’ve caught up with the current day’s gift. It’s up to you whether you open them daily or wait until the last day and open a bunch at once.

If you’re feeling a little bit naughty, you can get an idea of what to expect in each present by checking out our guide over here. Fortnite Winterfest 2022 runs until January 3, 2023.
