Terracotta is a pure decoration with 16 different variants and was added in the Minecraft 1.16.1 update. #1 Obtain Clay

You can produce clay by placing the mud block on top of the pointed dripstone. Over time, the water will be drained from the mud block and it will turn into a clay block.

#2 Smelt Clay in the Furnace
With the furnace and some fuel items ready, you can put the clay block in the top slot and wait. Eventually, you will get 1 Terracotta for each clay block.

If you’ve already set up a villager trading hall, find a mason villager and trade with him until he reaches an expert level. And he will offer dyed terracotta for 1 emerald. Remember that each mason villager can only offer 1 color from a total of 16 terracotta variations, so you may want to get some more mason villagers.

By adventuring, you can find different biomes or structures that can contain terracotta blocks. Badlands biome is well known for its terracotta resource since you can find a lot of terracotta here, including red, orange, yellow, white, light gray, brown, and normal terracotta.
