How to invite friends and party up in The First Descendant

The First Descendant is primarily a co-op game for you and your friends to blast aliens and get loot together. Yet, it’s not very obvious how to invite friends to parties in First Descendant. Let’s rectify that as this guide walks you through how to invite friends party up.

How to invite friends

To invite friends in The First Descendant, you’ll first need to complete the tutorial and make your way to the large player hub area. From there, do the following

• Open up the menu.
• Go to the social tab.
• Click the bottom CPU chip icon on the left of the screen to go to your platform’s friend list.
• Add your Xbox, PC, or PlayStation friends to your The First Descendant friends list.
• From there, you can invite them to form parties.
• You can also find players in your local session to invite to parties.

In addition, players can also invite players from the social hub or in public open-world areas to their party by walking up to that player. You’ll see a button appear above their heads to hold down to interact with them and invite them to your party or view their profile.

You can tell when you’ve received an invite to a party by going to the social menu and seeing the support requests and requests section. This will tell you if you have any pending friend invites or party invites waiting for you. From there, your party can now play together – open world content or the void invasions normal and hard modes. If you would rather go solo, set your sessions as private.

How to add friends

If you’ve made a friend in the First Descendant, you can add them to your friends list via the social screen. There’s a button to view players in your current shard, alongside recently played with players. If you’re trying to add a friend who plays on the same platform as you, you’ll find a menu from your platform account’s friend list (such as your Steam friend list). From there, you can click on their profile and add them.
