While the Coil Railgun wasn’t available in GTA Online’s Free Roam mode for a while, it can now be picked up for a fee, providing you’re willing to splash the cash. The Coil Railgun is so powerful that it was originally limited to a handful of missions in the game – due to how devastating it is against armoured vehicles, such as tanks, which it can destroy easily. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Where can you buy the railgun in GTA V Online?
While the Coil Railgun can currently be purchased for Ammu-Nation for $250,000 after the Minor Turbulence mission, in GTA Online, you need to go to a secret vendor in the form of the Gun Van. It’ll cost you $250,000 and can be found from the weapons menu. Ammo for the Railgun will set you back 10,500 for 20 rounds, so it’s a pricy gun to run. Remember, the gun van will appear in different locations on the map, so you may need to scout around until you find it.
Is the GTA V railgun worth it?
Yes… but it depends what you’re using it for. That’s thanks to its kinetic energy penetrator rounds, that fire off at around 72,000 KPH, The downside that while a direct hit is detesting, the small blast radius and limited damage range (the killzone is around 500m) means you need to be incredibly accurate or risk causing no damage at all. The other thing to watch out for is the reload time, which will leave you vulnerable if under heavy fire.
The good news is there is very little recoil, and is easy to master, so long as you can justify the upfront cost.
