Fortnite crossovers are always a hit when they bring an iconic character as an in-game skin. Whether it’s Darth Vader from Star Wars or even Spider-Man from Marvel Comics, fans always look out for their favorite characters to appear in Epic’s Battle Royale.

The game has also collaborated with characters from other video games as part of Gaming Legends icon series skins such as Kratos, Nathan Drake, Solid Snake, and now Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077. However one of the most iconic characters that has been a rare skin ever since it came out was Master Chief from the Halo franchise.

Now that it’s back in Fortnite, here’s how to get it and all the other Halo cosmetic items in the game.

Fortnite x Halo Master Chief skin: price and how to get it

The Master Chief skin is back in the Fortnite Item Shop after 935 days since it was last seen on June 3, 2022. Now that it’s back in the game, other themed cosmetic items have also returned. Head over to the in-game Item Shop or the Fortnite Web Shop and navigate to the Master Chief section to check out the items.

Here are all the Halo crossover items in Fortnite and their prices:

  • Master Chief outfit: 1,500 V-Bucks
  • Gravity Hammer pickaxe: 800 V-Bucks
  • UNSC Pelican glider: 1,200 V-Bucks
  • Lil’ Warthog traversal emote: 500 V-Bucks
  • Master Chief Bundle (includes all items): 2,600 V-Bucks

All the Master Chief items are in the Fortnite Item Shop until 1/1/2025 and will be gone once the shop resets at 12 am GMT. The skin also has a matte black selectable style, but there is a certain eligibility criteria to unlock it.

How to get Matte Black Master Chief skin style

When the Master Chief skin was released in Fortnite back in 2020, players who played Fortnite on an Xbox Series X|S console were granted the Matte Black style for free, if they owned the outfit or the entire bundle.

However, now Epic has announced that the selectable style is no longer unlockable in an X post. They wrote, “The Matte Black style for The Master Chief is no longer unlockable. This style is limited to players who purchased the outfit and played on an Xbox Series X|S prior to December 2024. Any purchases of the Master Chief made today can be returned without spending a Return Ticket if they prefer, by reaching out to Player Support.”

So if you were looking forward to playing Fortnite on your Xbox console in hopes of unlocking the Matte Black style, unfortunately, you might have to wait a little longer until Epic is back from winter break and fixes a bug causing this issue, according to data miners.

Until then, check out some of the free skins like Santa Dogg that are available in the game with this year’s edition of Winterfest.
