Picking the best Fortnite seasons of all time is nearly an impossible task. Epic Games has released 27 seasons so far, and all of them have been great. Each season has something that makes it unique, and picking the best one is highly subjective.

However, after playing the battle royale game for more than 1,200 hours and witnessing every single season, I’ve decided to make the list of the best Fortnite seasons of all time.

The best Fortnite seasons ever released

Below is the 6 best Fortnite seasons of all time and then followed by my tier list. Lets see which season made the list.

Chapter 2 – Season 1

The first season of Chapter 2 was fantastic. Epic Games added a lot of new features with it, including fishing and swimming. The user interface also received a major overhaul, and for the first time, Fortnite received a new island.

Unfortunately, this season was also the longest Fortnite season ever. It lasted for more than four months, and Epic did not release many updates throughout it. Due to this, many players got bored of it quickly and wanted something else.

Chapter 4 – Season 4

The Last Resort was arguably the best season of Chapter 4. Epic added many new features, and the increased pace made the game feel fun. This Fortnite season served somewhat as a throwback season, with the game developer adding many Mythic weapons from the past seasons.

On top of the gameplay, the season had an interesting story, with many players wondering what the purpose of the time machine was. Chapter 4 – Season 4 is one of the best Fortnite seasons of all time and a perfect conclusion to the Chapter 4 storyline.

Chapter 3 – Season 1

Chapter 3 also received a new Fortnite island. Not only that but players were introduced to it in a glorious way. The entire island flipped, revealing a new map and many fantastic places to explore. For the first time, players were able to visit The Sanctuary, the home of The Seven.

✓ The Seven

Fortnite Chapter 3 was focused on The Seven

The third chapter of Fortnite was focused on The Seven, but the organization seems to have been disbanded since the end of the chapter.

What makes Chapter 3 – Season 1 one of the best Fortnite seasons is the addition of new gameplay features. With its release, Epic Games added mantling and tactical sprinting, two features that would become essential. On top of it, the season added first-person weapons, such as the MK Assault Rifle.

Chapter 1 – Season 2

The early phase of Fortnite was very fun. While the first season wasn’t exactly spectacular, Epic Games released a game-changing update in Season 2. Thanks to the update, the videogame eventually became a worldwide phenomenon.

The second season of Fortnite introduced the Battle Pass, a progression system with valuable rewards. Furthermore, the entire island received a major overhaul, and players had a chance to land at Tilted Towers for the first time.

Chapter 2 – Season 2

The second season of Chapter 2 is considered one of the best Fortnite seasons by many players. It was the first season that added NPCs, and many Mythic weapons were also added with it. The island had several important locations with bosses and vaults, which were popular landing spots.

Despite being long, Chapter 2 – Season 2 was not boring or dull at all. Besides the Battle Royale mode, Epic Games also released the Spy Games limited-time game mode, which lasted throughout the entire season and was very entertaining.

✓ Did you know?

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 lasted for nearly four months

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 was the second-longest season in Fortnite history. With a duration of 119 days, it was only eight days shorter than Chapter 2 – Season 1.

Fortnite Season OG

Season OG is arguably the best Fortnite season of all time. It’s a perfect mix of the Chapter 1 map and new gameplay mechanics. Due to this, it’s no surprise that Fortnite is breaking records once again. Many older players have returned to it, while new players got a chance to witness the OG map for the first time.

The OG Pass is also great and features several fantastic skins. Unlike the early seasons of Chapter 2, the OG Fortnite season is the shortest in the history of the videogame. However, despite this, it’s still fantastic, and Epic did the right thing by releasing it.

Fortnite seasons tier list

Ranking every Fortnite season from best to worst would be impossible, but here’s a tier list of every season so far. The OG Season and Chapter 2 – Season 2 are at the top, while every other season is below it.

Chapter 4 – Season 3 was somewhat fun, but the addition of the jungle biome was rather negative. Due to this, I ranked it as the worst Fortnite season of all time.

Ranking the best Fortnite seasons FAQ

Why is Chapter 2 – Season 2 ranked so high?

The season added many mechanics which were entertaining, from NPCs to vaults. These mechanics would stay in the game for many other seasons. Furthermore, this was the second-longest Fortnite season of all time, yet it didn’t feel that long since Epic Games kept updating it.

Is Fortnite Chapter 1 the best chapter?

I would personally pick Chapter 2 as the best chapter. As someone who has played since the first week of Fortnite, I don’t consider the first chapter to be as amazing as many players claim it to be. The game had many issues in its first two years, but it’s also received many quality-of-life updates since then.

Which Fortnite season was the most popular?

The Fortnite OG Season recently broke the record for the most daily players in the game’s history. Before that, the game peaked in Chapter 1, but its record for the most concurrent players was set in Chapter 2 – Season 4.
