God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Realm Guide 100% Completion

Alongside Helheim, the volcanic Muspelheim is among the smallest realms you’ll journey through in God of War Ragnarok, making it a prime candidate for a quick 100% completion. Only it has combat challenges that, depending the level of difficulty you’ve dialed in, can take quite a while to tick off.

In this guide, we’ll cover how to reach 100% realm completion with the location of all the lore, ravens, chests, Remnant of Asgard, Crucible trials, and favors.

During your first visit to Muspelheim as Atreus alongside Thor, you won’t be able to find any of the items or collectibles. But, from you second visit with Kratos and Atreus during The Summoning main path mission, you’ll be free to return as and when you see fit.

Burning Cliffs, Muspelheim – God of War Ragnarok

Legendary Chests 1/1

Head forward from the Burning Cliffs mystic gateway, jump across the gap then grapple down the cliff on the right. Head right across the gap and into the cave where you’ll find a Legendary chest ahead.

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

To the right off the chest is one of Odin’s Ravens sitting on a rock in a pool of lava.

Nornir Chests 1/1

Squeeze through the gap to the left of the chest, then take a left and shimmy on the ledge passing below a lava fall. Continue down looking for a weak point on the right. You may have cleared this already, if not, spear and detonate to reach a Nornir chest.

The first rune brazier is right and up from the chest. Face the chest and turn around – the two other runes are on the right perched on cliffs a short distance away. You’ll need to use a stacked sigil and the Blades to light the second rune. The same applies for the third, but it’s much trickier.

First, sigil between the two runes and stack so that it covers both (a pink glow on the runes confirms this). Second, run to the left of the runes and chain another two stacks with one close enough to Kratos that the Blades can reach it. Loot the chest for an Idunn Apple.

Remnants of Asgard 1/1

After completing the story return to the Burning Cliffs to find a Remnants of Asgard spot about halfway down the cliff in the arena just next to the Nornir chest. Follow the marker on your map if you’re having trouble locating it.

Lore 1/1

In the same spot as the Remnants of Asgard, look to the rocks left of the gap leading towards the temple for the Valhalla Rises Rune Read.

Surtr’s Forge, Muspelheim – God of War Ragnarok

Odin’s Ravens 1/1

After zip-lining into Surtr’s Forge, head up the ramp leading to where you first met him. Turn around and look up at the ruins. There’s one of Odin’s Ravens perched there.

The Crucible, Muspelheim – God of War Ragnarok

Nine Realms in Bloom 1/1

Jump down the ledge ahead of The Crucible mystic gateway. Head to the right of Brok’s Shops to find the Ashpetal, part of the Nine Realms in Bloom Favor.

Nornir Chests 1/1

In the pit in front of Brok’s shop is a Nornir chest. To unlock the runes, you’ll need to complete all six The Crucible challenges – two per rune. The chest contains a Chaos Flame. Here are the six trials:

• Weapon Mastery
• Flawless
• Ring Out
• Feed The Rift
• Population Control
• King of the Hill

Crucible Challenges 15/15

Alongside the six initial Crucible trials listed just above, their are a further set of nine called The Final Challenges. The first three are available in the existing Crucible challenge rooms. To unlock the rest, you’ll need to complete two Crucible challenges in a certain order to unlock each challenge.

If you look at the floor around the central Crucible blade hilt, there are circles with blue glowing runes carved into them. These indicate what trials you have left to do – each of the Crucible trial rooms is assigned a rune. For example, if the circle shows the H and R symbols, head to the H room first, complete any of the three challenges. Do the same for the R room, then return to the central arena and interact with the hilt to trigger the Final Challenge.

Defend Your Valor 1/1

After finishing the story, return to the arena in front of Brok’s shop in The Crucible. On the right is a new crawl space along with a new question mark on the map. Head through the gap and grapple forward to find Gna the Valkyrie, appearing on the map as the Defend Your Valor favor. Defeating her grants The Queen’s Armor for Freya, the Rond of Obliteration, and The Queen’s Roar Runic Summon.
