God of War Ragnarok – How to Get to the Mist Fields

Wondering how to return to the Mist Fields in Niflheim after completing the Unlocking the Mask story mission, but you aren’t sure how to get there in God of War Ragnarok? We’ve been there, and it seems like there’s no way to return to the icy canyons after that first visit. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get to the Mist Fields in God of War Ragnarok.

How to get to the Mist Fields in God of War Ragnarok

To reach the Mist Fields, you’ll need to have completed the main story and seen the credits roll. After wrapping up the story, you won’t immediately be able to reach the Mist Fields, but you can unlock a mystic gateway to travel there by talking to a certain talkative squirrel.

After finishing the story, head to Sindri’s House between the realms and talk to Ratatoskr, perched on the branch to the left of the house. Ax the chime if needed to summon him. After a brief chat, Ratatoskr will give you a pouch of Yggdrasil seeds that unlock various previously inaccessible mystic gateways throughout the realms, including the Mist Fields in Niflheim.

After getting the seeds, it’s a case of visiting any mystic gateway, selecting Niflheim, then traveling to the brand new Mist Fields mystic gateway. The area isn’t large by the standard set by others in God of War Ragnarok but does include one collectible and a Berserker Gravestone you’ll need to 100% Niflheim.

Walk straight from the mystic gateway to below the frozen ruins to find the Frostfinger flower needed for the Nine Realms in Bloom favor. Go right from the Mist Fields mystic gateway and follow the path down to find a Berserker Gravestone. Here you’ll need to get the best of Skjothendi The Unerring and pick up the Berserker Gauntlets wrist armor for the trouble.
