Of the cascade of new mechanics, armor sets, and enchantments padding out God of War Ragnarok, relics are among the most impactful when it comes to turning the tide in a tough fight. These additional combat skills and buffs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but unless you know how to use them, they are effectively useless. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use relics in God of War Ragnarok.

How to use Relics in God of War Ragnarok
Before you can use a relic, you’ll need to equip it. Tap the touchpad to bring up the inventory, then navigate to the Weapons tab. Go down to Relic at the bottom of the list, and tap X. On the left is a list of all available relics (you’ll gather more as you progress through the game). On the right is a description of the selected relic along with the current level and upgrade options. Tap X on the relic you want to equip. You’ll know it’s equipped when there’s an E next to it in the list on the left.
With the relic equipped, return to the game. To use a relic in God of War Ragnarok, hold down the L1 button and tap Circle.
