Is It Worth Pulling On Alhaitham?

The new top-tier Dendro DPS character, Alhaitham, is a Sword user who is equipped with one of the most unique skill sets in the entire game. He is also the first main Dendro on-field DPS in the game. It’s definitely worth it to pull on Alhaitham since his Talents allow a splendid application of his Element (Dendro) while using an aesthetically cool-looking attack sequence to proc huge instances of damage.

While it might become tricky to understand Alhaitham’s use in battle all at once, it’ll be easier to learn what’s so unusual about his skills first. So, without further ado, let’s dive straight into it!

What Makes Alhaitham’s Kit Stand Out?

Usually, characters with Melee weapons: Sword, Polearm, or Claymore, excel in proccing huge instances of damage but can’t use their Element all the time (such as Xiao, Xingqyu, and Diluc). Alhaitham, on the other hand, even after being a Sword user, doesn’t face that drawback since he has a pretty useful Passive:

Shortcoming For Infusion Based Applicators

For DPS characters who wield a Sword, Polearm, or Claymore, the goal is to get Elemental Infusion by having Constellations or using their Skill or Burst to proc Elemental DMG (the optimal damage output of most DPS characters). However, when the attack sequence is stopped to use a Skill or a Burst, the character suffers a drop in DPS. No DPS character yet can get around it except Alhaitham since he can do it even without his Skill/Burst.

Alhaitham’s Constant Dendro Application

Alhaitham can get Chisel-Light Mirrors to get Dendro Infused on his Sword even by only utilizing his Charged/Plunging Attacks without any Constellations. This makes him stand out from other DPS characters since he doesn’t require only his Skill or Burst to do the job for him. His unique attribute is owed to his Ascension Passive, Four-Causal Correction, which he can continually proc Dendro without losing any DPS.

Moreover, Alhaitham’s damage scales on both his ATK and Elemental Mastery, giving him an edge in terms of dealing extra damage. With that, he can show huge damage numbers on the screen when proccing Dendro Reactions. These reactions in themselves prove to be much of an advantage for Alhaitham. If you aren’t informed about them, you can learn how they affect Alhaitham’s gameplay further below!

Types Of Alhaitham’s Dendro Reactions

The Dendro reactions, since their release into the game, have proven to be game-breaking for F2P players. Compared to the other six elements in the game, Dendro brings much more reactions to a player’s palette who’s playing Alhaitham:

  • Burning (Pyro + Dendro)
  • Quicken (Electro + Dendro)
  • Aggravate (Apply Electro after Quicken)
  • Spread (Apply Dendro after Quicken)
  • Dendro Cores (Cores dropped by Hydro + Dendro)
  • Bloom (Apply Hydro on Dendro Cores)
  • Hyper-Bloom (Apply Electro on Dendro Cores)

As we can see, Alhaitham Mains have a wide variety of reactions, allowing them to build Alhaitham in many different ways enjoying his versatility. Though, you should be wary of when and which Element you apply in order to get the intended reaction, otherwise, the reaction might get messed up. Once you get a hold of it, you’re good to go for a smooth ride!

Alhaitham’s Aesthetics And Visuals

To wholeheartedly bond with a character, they must have something unique that would attract any player to invest in them fully. Alhaitham, in that matter, has a very stylish Normal ATK sequence while not forgetting his Mirrors that continuously attack to proc damage, simultaneously catching an eye because of the cool effects. His non-repetitive and versatile gameplay can highly maintain your interest, making him worth the while!

Final Thoughts

With outstanding abilities and one of the, if not the most stylish playstyle, Alhaitham is here to join the Party. With an on-field main Dendro DPS character joining the team, players can use Dendro Reactions in battle at capacity! So, if you’ve been trying to clear Floor 12 for a long time, take Alhaitham and get your Primos before it resets!
