Weapon mods are a new feature in Fortnite Chapter 5. These attachments are helpful if you’d like to modify weapons and change their stats. There are different kinds of weapon mods, from optics to foregrip, and all of them have different purposes.
In the first four chapters, everyone used the same weapons. In most cases, the only difference between two Heavy Assault Rifles, for example, was their rarity. However, the new Fortnite season brings more ways to customize weapons and adjust them to your liking.

Either way, you can completely change weapons, making them unique. Most weapons will already have some mods, but feel free to customize them.
Here is a list of some weapon mods available in Fortnite at the moment:
- Holo-13 Optict – x1.3 magnification
- P2X Optics – x2 magnification
- Suppressor – Reduces muzzle flash and dampens audio
- Muzzle brake – Reduces recoil
- Vertical Foregrip – Improves ADS recoil and spread
- Angled Foregrip – Reduces ADS time
- Speed Mag – Increases reload speed
- Drum Mag – Increases magazine size
Considering that this is a new Fortnite feature, we expect Epic Games to add more weapon mods throughout Chapter 5 – Season 1. At the moment, it’s unknown how long the new feature will stay in the game. However, it will likely be similar to Reality Augments in Chapter 4, so we expect it to stay in the game throughout the entire chapter.
Nearly every weapon in Chapter 5 will come with at least one mod. An Uncommon (Green) weapon will have one mod, while Rare (Blue) will have two. Weapons of Epic (Purple) rarity will have three mods, and both Legendary and Mythic weapons will have four attachments.
