- To walk the plank, head to the ship in the Shipwreck Shallows area at the centre of the map
- Climb onto the main deck of the ship and look for a wooden plank hanging off the side
- Walk down the plank, and you’ll perform a small jump, completing the quest
The Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean has arrived, bringing with it skins, items, a new area on the map and of course, some quests. And in true pirate fashion, one of the first quests players have to take on in the update is to walk the plank.
As ambiguous as this quest first seems, it’s actually incredibly easy to complete, you just need to know where and how to do it. That’s where we come in – we’ve put together this quick guide to take you through it step-by-step so you can get this quest out of the way.
How do you walk the plank in Fortnite?
To walk the plank in Fortnite, you’re first going to want to head over to the new area, Shipwreck Shallows, smack dab in the middle of the Fortnite map. This area is filled with a few islands and shipwrecks, but most notably, a big old ship floating in the water – the Black Pearl (though you won’t find Jack Sparrow here).
Once you’re at the ship, go ahead and climb up on board. From the main deck of the ship, you’ll notice that on one side of the boat, there’s a wooden plank hanging out over the water. All you need to do is walk along this plank, and you’ll perform a little hop, jumping into the not-so-deep depths below, and that’s quest complete!
This sounds easy enough, but of course, it’s a little trickier in practice. Everyone and their mum is looking to land here, whether they’re looking to check out the new area or also looking to complete the quest, so you might want to consider landing somewhere else and making your way here when it’s quietened down.
Or, you can just do it like us. When the Battle Bus flew overhead, we jumped out and immediately deployed our glider. From here, it was just a matter of floating serenely down while everyone else duked it out. We landed completely unopposed and got the quest finished immediately.
