If you’re looking for Knotroot, chances are you’ve already visited a couple of caves but haven’t had any luck. While you were looking at the right place, there is likely one step that you missed. Before going into a cave, you need to craft an Uncommon Forest Axe. This LEGO Fortnite tool will help you harvest Knotroot from caves and add it to your inventory.
To craft this axe, head over to your Crafting Bench. However, you need to upgrade your bench before you can obtain this item, so make sure that’s done. The Forest Axe requires 3 Bones and 3 Wooden Rods. You can obtain the first ingredient from enemies, while you’ll need a Lumber Mill to refine Wood into Wooden Rods.
Once you have the axe, head over to a cave. You can only find Knotroot in Caves in the Grasslands Biome. You can use your map to search for a cave or simply visit a couple of nearby hills. Before looking for a cave, make sure that your Forest Axe has an Uncommon (Green) rarity. If you craft a low-level axe, you won’t be able to obtain Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite.
Be prepared before entering caves
Caves have many enemies, including Rollers. If you are not prepared, you could easily die and lose all of your gear. While you can recover your items, it’s best to collect many healing items and carry a couple of weapons before entering a cave.
Before you get into a cave, we also recommend you craft a couple of weapons. You should have a Recurve Crossbow, as it deals 5 damage per shot. For melee attacks, you should either use a Shortsword or a Longsword. Furthermore, make sure to craft a Torch, or you will struggle to navigate a cave.
Once you are inside a cave, look for a light vine that is usually located on walls or ceilings. After you hit it a few times, it will be destroyed and will drop Knotroot. Depending on the size of the vine, you can get more than 10 Knotroot at once.
If you clear an entire cave, you can get more than 100 Knotroot. Due to this, make sure to clear up your inventory space before going on your Knotroot run. You can find this item in nearly every part of a cave in LEGO Fortnite, even at the very beginning of it.
Once you find enough Knotroot, go back to your village and upgrade it to Level 4.
