In this guide, we’ll explain how to change the name of your Fortnite account. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to do this process all the time. Furthermore, changing the name is free, but Fortnite has millions of active players, so finding an available name is quite a challenge.
How to change your Fortnite name
Your Fortnite name is basically the username of your Epic Games account. You need to make this account before playing the battle royale game, regardless of the platform you play it on. However, if you want to change the name, you can do it by opening the settings of your account. The process can be done every two weeks.
To change your Fortnite name, follow these steps:
- Go to Epic Games account settings
- Sign in with your account
- Locate your current display name
- Press the blue Edit button next to it
- Type in your new Fortnite name
- Tick the box at the bottom
- Press the Confirm button
Your new username has to be at least three characters long and must not contain your personal info, such as your first name or address. Once you change your Fortnite name, you will not be able to do it again for two weeks.
It’s important to note that your Epic Games username may not be available everywhere. If you play on a console, such as PlayStation, your PSN username may be shown instead. If this happens, you will need to change the username on your platform.
