Fortnite servers are currently down, yet there is no major update. For the first time in a while, Epic Games took servers down to deploy a hotfix. This means that there will be no new content added with today’s Fortnite update. If you want to play the game, you will have to wait for the downtime to end, as it’s currently unavailable across the globe.
In this article, we take a look at the current Fortnite downtime and how long it will last. Fortunately, Epic Games has provided us with an ETA regarding downtime, and thanks to it, we know when Fortnite servers will be up.
Are Fortnite servers down?
- Fortnite servers are currently down.
Epic always performs downtime ahead of major updates, but this one is rather an exception. The current downtime brings no update, but only a hotfix. In this case, we are looking at a downtime that should last for only an hour, making it one of the shortest downtimes we’ve ever had.
Unfortunately, Fortnite may not be working properly throughout the day. The game developer is also performing maintenance on Epic Online Services, which may cause disruptions in joining sessions and lobbies. This process shouldn’t take longer than seven hours and should be done by noon UTC.
The Fortnite developer announced a shorter downtime on Monday night. The company expects servers to be back up by 7 AM Eastern Time or 11 AM UTC. While this estimate may not be exact, Epic typically misses by only 15 to 20 minutes. As a result, we anticipate the servers will be up by 8 AM ET at the latest.
If you’re having trouble connecting to the servers, make sure to check the public status page. While this isn’t always 100% accurate, it will often give you a decent estimate. While servers are down, make sure to download the latest hotfix. Once you do this, you will be able to play the game as soon as the servers go back up.
