Fortnite servers are currently down for a huge update. Epic Games took the servers down to release Chapter 6 – Season 4, which means that lots of new content will be added with today’s Fortnite update. If you want to play the game, you will have to wait for the downtime to end, as it’s currently unavailable across the globe.

In this article, we look at the current Fortnite downtime and how long it will last. Fortunately, Epic Games has provided us with an ETA regarding downtime, and thanks to it, we know when Fortnite servers will be up.

Are Fortnite servers down?

  • Fortnite servers are back up.

Epic always performs downtime ahead of major updates, and this one is no exception. The current Fortnite downtime includes a big update that must be downloaded before you can play, and it will last for at least five hours.

The Fortnite developer announced an extended downtime on Wednesday night. The company expects servers to be back up by 7 AM Eastern Time or 11 AM UTC. It’s important to note that this is just a rough estimate. Downtime usually lasts longer, and considering that today’s update brings a new season, servers might be down for six or seven hours.

We will update this article if Epic provides another announcement regarding the server downtime. The update brings map changes, a new Battle Pass and OG Pass, many new cosmetics, gameplay items and changes, and a lot of other content. Due to this, it’s no surprise that today’s Fortnite downtime will be longer than usual.

If you’re having trouble connecting to the servers, make sure to check the public status page. While this isn’t always 100% accurate, it will often give you a decent estimate. While servers are down, make sure to download the latest update. Once you do this, you will be able to play the game as soon as the servers go back up.
