The cross-platform error is preventing many Fortnite players from playing the new season. The error seems to be exclusive to Xbox, and Epic Games is aware of it. Fortunately, it appears that the game developer has already found a fix and will release it in a future update. Due to this, we expect the fix to fix the error for good and prevent it from popping up again. In the meantime, we will reveal how you can fix the cross-platform error on your gaming system. This process takes only a few minutes, and once you do it, you’ll be able to jump back into the game and try Fortnite Season 4.

How to fix the Xbox cross-platform error

“Cross-platform play currently disabled” and “Cross-platform permissions required” are the errors many Xbox players have encountered lately. Unfortunately, changing privacy settings doesn’t help with this issue, as it’s a Fortnite bug. The good news is that you can easily fix it, and the entire process takes less than three minutes.

  4. Leave the console unplugged for two minutes
  5. Press and hold the power button while the console is unplugged
