Ascendant Midas is a new Fortnite skin you can unlock for free. Epic Games has decided to bring back this fan-favorite character to the game, and he even has his own event! During this event, you will be able to play the Floor is Lava limited-time game mode and earn several cosmetic items for free. On top of it, you can also get XP to level up your Battle Pass.

How to unlock the new Midas skin for free in Fortnite
Ascendant Midas and his cosmetic items will hit Fortnite’s Item Shop on Tuesday, March 26. However, you can unlock all of them for free two days earlier. To do this, you will need to participate in the Rise of Midas Cup. This is a solo Fortnite Battle Royale tournament in the Midas Presents: Floor is Lava mode, and by ranking at the top of the leaderboard in your region, you will unlock the new Midas skin for free.
These are all the rewards Epic Games is giving out to top performers:
- Ascendant Midas outfit
- Golden King’s Cape backbling
- The Golden Touch pickaxe
- Golden Ascension wrap
Additionally, anyone who earns at least eight points in the cup will receive The Rise of Midas loading screen, which can be seen below.
This is how high you have to finish the Fortnite tournament to unlock the new Midas skin for free:
- Oceania – Top 200
- Asia – Top 500
- Middle East – Top 200
- Europe – Top 2600
- Brazil – Top 500
- North America – Top 2000
The tournament will take place on Sunday, March 24, in every region. However, make sure to check the Compete tab in the game to see when exactly it starts in your region.
