After purchasing the trial version (or any other version you want) finish downloading it, and then launch the application.

After launching the application, you’ll be asked to log in to your Square Enix account before being able to progress any further. If you don’t have a Square Enix account, then you’ll have to instead create a new one. After doing that, you’ll just have to agree to the service license and license registration

Creating Your Character in Final Fantasy XIV

• What the character’s race will be
• What the character’s class will be
• What the character’s gender will be

One thing to keep in mind is that starting STR, DEX, VIT, INT, and MND attributes will differ depending on your race and clan, but the gender option doesn’t affect your stats at all.

After choosing the aforementioned things, you can finally set the appearance of your character. Of course, don’t worry if you get carried away and end up spending hours on this step since we’ve all been there.

When you’re satisfied with your character’s appearance, move on to setting your character’s birthday, patron deity, starting class, and city state, though technically the last two are one and the same as a character’s starting city will be determined by their starting class, as no starting city houses all class guilds.

Moving on, you’ll be sent to the data center selection screen. Here, we recommend you choose a data center closer to you to ensure a better gameplay experience. If you’ve created a character in a different server before then there will be a star next to that server, though chances are you haven’t if you’re searching for a guide on creating a character.

Finally, you now have to make the most important decision so far. Naming your character, of course. When you do that, simply finalize the character you’ve just created.
