FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 will arrive in Ultimate Team this week, bringing with it another set of incredible new player items. If the first set of current players and Icons was not enough, EA are set to mix things up even more this week!

As with almost every promo event, the build up to release has been fuelled by multiple leaks on social media. This week is no different, although guessing which position the Shapeshifters will be is a near impossible task.

FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 release date

The FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 release date will be June 23. The new set of items will be released into packs at 1pm ET / 6pm BST, and remain available for one week in Ultimate Team.

Along with the new player items and Shapeshifters Icons, EA will likely release several high-value SBC players to bolster your squad. Look out for a new Objectives player or two as well as they can be useful free additions.

FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 leaks and predictions

This week’s Shapeshifters Team 2 leaks look a little different, and it appears as though it is the week of the goalkeepers! Several sources have stated that two or three goalkeeper SBCs will be released.

With goalkeepers looking set to move up the pitch, here are our FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 2 GK predictions:

1. Pepe Reina (CAM)

The first goalkeeper to actually be included in any of the leaks, so he has to make the predictions list. The former Liverpool stopper has never scored a goal in his professional career, but we are convinced that EA will turn him into a classy two-footed playmaker.

Five-star weak foot and excellent passing attributes could turn Reina into a creative genius. At 6’2”, Reina would also be a handful arriving late in the box, although he may need some decent heading accuracy too.

2. Alisson (ST)

Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson has to be included. Cast your mind back to May 2021, and Alisson is scoring a last-minute winner for Liverpool against West Brom. This was no scrappy goal either, it is a sensational header that any centre-forward would be proud of.

Jumping and heading accuracy, that’s all Alisson needs after his salmon-like goal against The Baggies. Obviously that’s not all EA would give him, so he could be a sensational target man if released.

3. Manuel Neuer (CB)

Germany and Bayern Munich stalwart Manuel Neuer is the original sweeper keeper, he just hates being on his line! Whether he arrives as a ball-playing CB or midfield maestro, Neuer would go down a storm with the community.

Neuer has the frame to be a dominating centre-back, and we are sure he would marshall the troops from defence. If he is included, expect to see excellent physical attributes and a great range of passing.

4. Ederson (CDM)

Similar to Neuer, Man City’s Ederson is equally adept with his feet as he is with his hands. The Brazilian is effectively a quarterback with his magical left foot, and we would love to see him step up into midfield and spray passes in FUT 23.

Shot Power 99. Have you seen how far Ederson launches the ball? If he connects with it, you don’t want to be the one in the way. Along with shot power, long passing would surely be high on Ederson’s list of potential attributes.

5. Kyle Walker (GK)

Make it happen EA. While it’s all fun and games bringing the keepers out on the pitch, we need someone to go in goal! Kyle Walker and fellow England teammate Harry Kane have done so for their clubs in recent years, and with Shapeshifters it’s not outside the realms of possibility.

If Walker was selected, surely his rapid pace would remain the same. What his stand out attribute would be in goal we aren’t so sure, but we would opt for GK Reflexes, GK Diving, and of course GK Kicking.
