FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 3, release date, and more

The third release of the FIFA 23 Shapeshifters event is live, with the theme of goalkeepers continuing. Several Team 3 leaks appeared online throughout the course of the week, and the release looks like its lived up to expectations with fan favourites and icons aplenty.

The leaks have plagued FIFA 23, and have even started to surface around EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team. Regardless, FUT Season 7 Shapeshifters has continued to provide plenty of new in-game content and some incredible new player items, something you can see firsthand in the Team 3 release.

FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 3 release date

The FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 3 release went live today, June 30. The second set of players was released into packs on June 23, preceded by Shapeshifters Team 1, and before that, the Ultimate TOTS items.

FUT Season 7’s theme is Shapeshifters, so the event could run the course of the six-week season. Last year only four teams were released though, paving the way for a new promo to follow before the season is out.

Team 3 All Cards

The FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 3 players are now live in Ultimate Team! The third release of Shapeshifters consists of eight players and five Icons, similarly to the previous two. These new Shapeshifter players included have not only received significant changes to their position but also huge boosts to their attributes.

Team 3 Shapeshifters leaks

Here it is. The big one. Kyle Walker is set to finally arrive as a goalkeeper in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team after his cameo display between the sticks back in 2019. Walker was called upon after Claudio Bravo was sent off in the Champions League against Atalanta. Bravo himself had been a replacement for Ederson who had picked up an injury in the first half.

Premium chemistry

Not only does the Shapeshifters event bring a host of new items into packs with funky positions, but there is also a new chemistry option. Certain players can now possess ‘premium chemistry’, and this will work in the same way as the FUT Heroes already seen in the game.

Each premium chemistry player can play on the maximum three chemistry points regardless of who else is in the team, provided they are playing in the correct position.

These items can also add an extra chemistry point to the league threshold, adding two points rather than the standard one.

Season 7 Shapeshifters

As mentioned above, a new season has begun in FUT. Season 7 Shapeshifters is underway, and two players have been made available to earn in season progress rewards. There are 40 levels to unlock this season, ten more than the usual 30 levels we have seen for years!

Former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung and Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero are available to unlock at LVL 20 and LVL 40 respectively. Neither players are Shapeshifters though. Park’s Fantasy FUT Hero item and a Trophy Titan Icon Del Piero are the rewards on offer.

Thiago Silva Shapeshifters (OVR 92)

Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva is the first Shapeshifters player available to unlock at LVL 10. The Brazilian has been transformed from his usual CB position into a rapid 92-rated striker, and his five-star weak foot certainly catches the eye.

Toni Kroos Shapeshifters (OVR 97)

Real Madrid maestro Toni Kroos is the other Shapeshifter that is available in the Season 7 season progress rewards path, and he can be unlocked at LVL 30. Huge boosts to his pace attributes and a whopping 97 OVR make the German midfielder one of the best in the game! Kroos does not fit into his usual CM role though, with CDM, CAM, and CF the options available.
